Dalhousie Discovery Days
Dalhousie University Discovery Day Is taking place Thursday, November 10, 2016 In the McInnes Room, 2nd floor, Student Union Building - Dalhousie University Discovery Days are one-day workshops that give secondary school students (primarily Grade 11) who are interested in science the opportunity to explore a variety of career options in medicine and the health sciences. A Discovery Day comprises a dynamic keynote lecture, interactive workshops and a career panel discussion. Students gain a clear picture of what it would be like to be a health professional by interacting with researchers, clinicians and educators in their real-life work setting. Pre-registration is required. Any students who are interested in attending must sign the sheet in student services and speak to a guidance counsellor to obtain registration information. Registration is on a first come basis.
Loran Scholarship
1. The Loran Scholarship is awarded to top notch high school students who have a high cumulative average, as well as strong character, leadership and service to their community. The scholarship is for students who plan to attend specific universities, so please see the poster in Student Services to make sure the university you are considering attending is included. Students interested in being considered as a school sponsored applicant must sign up in Student Services, the deadline to sign up if Friday October 7th with interviews on the morning of Wednesday October 12th. Only students with a cumulative average of 90% will be considered for an interview at the school level. Any student with an average of 85% or greater can apply to the direct pool of applicants for this award.
2. A University of New Brunswick representative will be here on Wednesday October 12th to talk about the programs at both the Saint john and Fredericton campuses. If you would like to attend the presentation, please sign up in Student Services, as pizza will be served and the representative needs to know how much pizza to bring!
Mount Saint Vincent University will have β€œOpen Campus Day” on Thursday, November 10th. This is an open house for all prospective students where you can get to know our faculty, learn about student services, receive an on the spot admission decision, and see what being a Mount student is all about. Registration and additional information coming soon.
MSVU Auburn Visit
1. A representative from Mount Saint Vincent University will be at Auburn Drive on Monday October 3rd at 12:05pm to give information about the school and its programs as well as offer on-the-spot admissions. If interested in attending the meeting, please sign up below; if interested on On-the-Spot admissions, please request a transcript from Ms. McCurdy by Wednesday September 28th.
SMU Visit at Auburn
1. A representative from Saint Mary’s University will be at Auburn Drive on Friday October 21st at 12:05pm to give information about the school and its programs. If interested in attending the meeting, please sign up below.
JMS Driving Academy
JMS Driving Academy driving class is starting October 1. The course cost is $500 plus tax with $25 off for anyone with student ID. Call 902-209-8081
Safe Grad and Prom
Any grade 12 students who would like a say in what their prom and safe grad will look like this year MUST attend a very important meeting this Thurday, Sept 29 in room 307 at lunch.
Boys Volleyball
Boys' Volleyball. Massive. 3 sets to none sweep of the SAckville High Kingfishers by our own Auburn Eagles. Great job boys! Make sure to come out to support our girls' team tonight at 6pm here in the Nest.
Congratulations to the boys golf team who qualified for provincials by coming second in metro and to Abbie wisener who qualified individually for the girls!
Humans Vs Zombies
Oh No Auburn! The Zombies have invaded once again! OUr first Humans Vs Zombies will be held October 6th from 5:30-10pm at Auburn. Tickets are $6 each and will be on sale today in the pit.
Cafeteria News
Today's special is lasagna with garlic bread and caesar salad ($6) and there is a vegetarian lasagna (this is limited amount).
